QHotels launches spa brand at The Midland

The Spa at The Midland will feature relaxation spaces

QHotels is investing £1.5m to create a new spa brand at its Manchester hotel, The Midland.

Due to open in June 2015, The Spa at The Midland will occupy the former health club at the hotel, offering a range of ESPA and Jessica treatments to residential and day guests.

The spa will include a sauna and steam room, a relaxation pool, eight treatment rooms and a Rasul mud chamber. There will also be several relaxation spaces for individuals and groups, with ‘relaxation cocoons’ and ‘sleep chambers’.

Pre-treatment areas will overlook the relaxation pool, where guests will be able to pre-select the music they want to listen to during their treatment. The treatment rooms themselves will include beds with heated blankets and calming lighting.

QHotels hopes to establish The Spa at The Midland as the ‘premium beauty destination for people in Manchester’ and will invest in the latest facial and body technological concepts to ensure its treatment offer beats other venues in the city.

Spa guests will have the choice of eating at the ‘secluded’ spa café, or dining at one of Simon Rogan’s two restaurants at the hotel, The French and Mr Coopers House & Garden.

Exciting plans

Charlie Thompson, group spa support manager at QHotels, said: “The plans for The Spa at The Midland are incredibly exciting, and our key objective is to provide Manchester with a first-class day spa and beauty destination for quality treatments, and provide relaxing packages for overnight spa guests in the 312 bedroom hotel.

“Careful consideration has been given to ensuring the customer journey is both premium and smooth from start to finish, and there has been huge attention to ensuring the spa compliments the existing restaurant brands in the hotel by appealing directly to the local market.

“We have huge ambitions to become the ‘go-to’ spa in Manchester, a city that is second only to London in demand for spa treatment services.”
