The Potting Shed lines up further Yorkshire gastropubs

Gastropub group The Potting Shed is set for further growth in Yorkshire after securing funding from Downing LLP.

Downing, which also backs pub operator Antic London, has invested £5.5m in to the business.

The funding will be used to open a fourth Potting Shed site in a former HSBC bank building in Guiseley.

The gastropub will feature a large garden area with the same brightly-coloured wooden sheds as its sister sites, and serve a menu of wood-fired pizzas, burgers, cocktails and craft ales.

“Potting Shed bar and grill has been so successful since we launched the first one less than two years ago that it’s given us real confidence to open more,” says Allan Harper, founder of BurningNight Group.

Potting Shed was created in 2015 by the Leeds-based BurningNight Group, which is also behind the German-themed Bierkeller bar brand.

The company currently operates pubs in Bingley and Beverley, with a third site lined up for Northallerton.
