Hart brothers secure second site for Barrafina

Sam and Eddie Hart have acquired a 20-year lease on Sapori in Drury Lane

Sam and Eddie Hart, the brothers behind Quo Vadis and Fino, have secured a site in Covent Garden for a second Barrafina Spanish tapas restaurant.

Having acquired the existing 20-year lease on former Italian restaurant Sapori on Drury Lane for an undisclosed six-figure sum, the Hart brothers intend to open the second outpost of Barrafina in early 2012.

The restaurant will mirror the Hart brothers’ original Barrafina site on Frith Street in Soho.

Mark Calder, head of sales at Restaurant Property who advised Sapori on the deal, said: “There is a very strong demand from restaurateurs seeking to have a presence in Covent Garden. This particular site close to the Theatre Royal and Aldwych Theatre attracted a lot of interest and hence we were able to achieve a substantial premium.”

Sam and Eddie Hart also operate Spanish tapas restaurant Fino in Fitzrovia, Hart’s hotel and restaurant in Nottingham, Quo Vadis in the West End and Hambleton Hall hotel in Rutland.

The Leisure Partnership advised Barrafina.
