Italian pizza group makes UK debut

Lievito pizza opens first UK site

Italian pizza and craft beer concept Lievito has opened the doors of its first UK restaurant in London.

The pizzeria, which has two sites in Reggio Calabria and Messina, has launched a 45-cover restaurant on Fulham Road.

Spread over two floors, the site serves a choice of 10 pizzas made with toppings such as red onion in beer; spicy salami and at least eight types of cheese.

The restaurant has retained the site’s original cast iron stoves and brickwork alcoves and now features a visible pizza oven.

“Our concept breaks the mould of traditional pizzerias, marrying innovation with authenticity and in turn producing something one-off,” says Lievito founder Rocco Caridi.

“Our restaurant reflects Calabria both in style and identity, and we are delighted to showcase this in London, specifically in Chelsea. As a brand, we desire to grow and reach new customers, and there is no better place for us to do this than the Fulham Road”.

Lievito secured its 1,099 sq ft site with the Sloane Stanley Estate, which owns and manages properties on The King's Road and Fulham Road in the capital.
