Galvin brothers Chris and Jeff have announced that their Galvin at Windows restaurant on London’s Park Lane will close later this month after 18 years of trading.

In a heartfelt statement, the brothers, who launched the rooftop restaurant on the 28th floor of the London Hilton on Park Lane back in 2006, said the memories they’d created at the restaurant would remain close to their hearts forever.

The restaurant’s final service will be 25 April.

“It's with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Galvin at Windows,” the statement reads.

“We've cherished every moment of our highly successful 18 years on Park Lane from being awarded our Michelin Star to the ongoing success of both the restaurant and our award-winning team.

“The memories we've created will remain close to our hearts forever.”

Galvin at Windows was the second restaurant to be launched by the Galvin brothers after Galvin Bistrot de Luxe in Marylebone, which itself closed back in 2018.

Serving seasonally inspired modern French haute cuisine, Galvin at Windows was awarded a Michelin star in 2007, but lost it in the 2020 Guide.

The restaurant was known to many for having Fred Sirieix as its general manager, who oversaw operations for 14 years until 2019.

Galvin at Windows’ closure leaves the Galvin brothers with three restaurants including the Michelin-starred Galvin La Chapelle in Spitalfields; Galvin Bistrot & Bar, also in Spitalfields; and Essex pub and restaurant Galvin Green Man.

“As we bid farewell to Galvin at Windows, we're excited for the future and the upcoming plans for our existing venues in London and Essex, which have recently enjoyed a fantastic refurbishment,” the brothers’ statement continues.

“Our commitment to you as an independent family-run business remains with the same drive and ambition and we will continue to share our special hospitality with you for years to come.”
